June 2026
There have been some lovely pieces heading out of the studio lately. I wanted to share a little of the stories behind them - the designs, the thinking and of course the finished pieces themselves.
Nobody knows me like my baby
Beth came to us a few months back to create a pendant for her wedding. Not just for her wedding day I should add - but that being the day she would wear it for the first time, under the starlit Texan sky. She was looking for a way to carry a special memory and create a future heirloom. The lyrics of a Lyle Lovett song mean so much to her and her husband and we hand engraved these for her with her favourite stone - turquoise. We designed a couple of options for the reverse of the pendant and landed with it simply being so beautiful as to engrave her new married name, surrounded by stars and a little moon. This was such a pleasure to work on with Beth and I just love the finished piece so much.
Beth so so kindly had this to say..
“The craftsmanship is extraordinary. Every detail feels intentional, from the traditional hand engraving to the quality of the gold itself. It has the soul of an heirloom—the kind of piece that feels as though it has always existed and will be treasured for generations to come. My pendant is one of the most meaningful pieces I own, and I know I will wear it for the rest of my life.”
I love you with lemons and salt
Wendy wanted a pendant that spoke of her relationship in one of the loveliest, unique ways with the words ‘con limón y sal’ - a song by Julieta Venegas. I’ll let Wendy explain it the best ..
In English it translates to “With Lemon and Salt”. The song is about loving someone just as they are, embracing their imperfections and the bitter-sweet realities of life and love. It’s about accepting the whole person, flaws and all, without needing to change anything about them hence the lyrics “Yo te quiero con limón y sal, Yo te quiero tal y como estás, No hace falta cambiarte nada” which mean “I love you with lemon and salt, I love you just the way you are. You don’t have to change anything about yourself”.
When Wendy had the wonderful suggestion to make the stone the ‘O’ my eyes lit up and immediately I saw it as a yellow citrine with a little leaf as the accent. This turned out just perfect. Here’s some of the designs, choosing the right shade for the stone and the finished pics.
The shortest poem is a name
Our newest drop of name necklaces also went to their new homes recently. They now have a satin finish centre which makes the hand cut of the engraving beautifully shine through. These are such a great canvas to hold names and - as one of our lovely customers did - engrave a word. She engraved the word ‘magic’ and it’s a beautiful way to hold a special name or word for you! How great do these all look together ?

Lastly, I really wanted to share the simplicity of this Momento pendant - engraved simply with a treasured name (ok, we added a little star and moon for good measure) I took the pic on a antique postcard embroidered with ‘To my dear sweetheart’ as it felt so fitting on it.
Oh! And our jewellery journals have also been heading out of the studio too! There’s lots more to tell about these so I’ll save that for another post.
Do let me know if you’ve found the BTS of our pieces interesting ?
With love,
Jo
